“Digital Hangover”—that feeling of closing your laptop after a 9-hour shift only to realize your eyes are burning and your brain feels static. The day is just a cycle which we just follow through like a robot – the one that repeats from 9 to 5, leaving us feeling like we are moving through time with no clear destination. When the screen finally turns off, that 10% of remaining energy deserves to be protected from the digital chaos. This blog is for everyone who wants to reclaim your time through screen-free rituals. It’s a moment where the “chaos” of the day begins to settle into “order.”

Screen-free ways to spend your time:

Tactile Reading:

Have you smelled a book? Picked up an old favourite in recent times – or maybe picked up a book which your friend may have suggested as a must-read? The delight of skimming through the pages is unparalleled. It was not for nothing that Stephen King had famously mentioned, Books are a uniquely portable magic. Get to the core of the Bookish Engine – even if it is for 5 minutes a day, try to read 10 pages with undivided attention. Spending some time to engage with the words the authors have chosen to use is a good(probably the best in my opinion) screen-free hobby.

The Art of Slow pour

The art of making tea is truly a meditation in a cup. It’s a process that demands you to slow down and witness the dance of the tea leaves in hot water and then the sizzle of the kettle as it informs us the tea is ready!  It turns a mundane moment into a ritual of self-connection. It easily becomes a quick way to enjoy your own company. Tea brewing undoubtedly is a beautiful bridge between internal reflection and sensory pleasure. Not to forget, the joy of sipping a well brewed tea with hmms and haws, gives a satisfactory and momentary bliss.

Letter Writing :

There is a certain magic in knowing that the paper you hold in your hand will eventually be held by someone else, carrying your exact thoughts across time and distance. The very idea that a pen and paper can act as a net to catch gems of words. The motive is to turn a simple piece of stationery into a time capsule. When you sit down to write, you aren’t just communicating information; you are slowing down the “cycle” of a busy life to focus on a single moment and that’s how my friends, we feed tactile memories to our body for a complete reset.
